Q: FaceTime reconnecting issue

I have reconnecting issues on FaceTime constantly. It doesn't matter if I call out or someone calls in. I am on iPad Pro 12. iOS 9.3.3, I have same problem with my iPhone 6s Plus. I have done the following, reset router and modem, hard reset on both phone and iPad,reset network, forget this network and reconnected.

   I am using a netgear R6100 model 802.11ac dual band router. I have been reading and troubleshooting for days and was hoping if anybody can at least tell me if this is an iPad or iOS or router issue so that I can proceed to fixing this issue.

  Also if this question is in the wrong category could someone please tell me which category it best fits in.

    I would also like to add that it makes no difference if I am connected to the 2g or 5g on the router. It also makes no difference if I am setting right beside the router. The video will freeze up and also the audio.
