and when i click on an area to start typing, (Browser's address bar or a comment on facebook maybe) there is a weird dialogue box that appears with 3 symboled Z's and the numbers 1,2 and 3 parallel to them, like so:
also, the highlited bar in a drop down menu is going up and down the menu itself.

Hi, I know this was forever ago, but did you figure out a solution to this? I’m having the exact same problem and even replaced the keyboard, etc...
I have the exact same problem. I did the SMC reset and the command option -P-R reset, and it fixed it for about 2 hours. Now it's back. Did yours come back? I even had a new keyboard installed so hopefully it's not that.
okay... I'll try to help you, but next time please post in the correct forum. this is for Mac Pro's (desktop mac) and you have a MacBook pro which is portable. First, try resetting the PMU/SMC. Shut down your MBP, plug in the power cord, hold down on the left hand side of the keyboard, shift, control, option and the power key all together. Hold 'em down for about 50 seconds, then release 'em, and then press the power key...also holding down Apple, Option P and R keys for 3 chimes as the MPB is booting up may help you.... check to see what country your keyboard is set to --which should be at the top of the screen...looks like it could be Czech or Polish or Serbian....,.dunno for sure, anyways give it a try
