Q: Home sharing is currently unavailable

When I try to turn home sharing on, on my iphone, the sequence of events is that I am asked to enter my apple ID password which I do. My iphone then shows an alert for Apple ID sign in requested (Don't allow/allow) and I allow. At the same time I get a message on my Mac saying that my apple ID is being used to sign into a new device (Don't allow/allow) and I allow. Both my mac and iphone then throw up verification codes but I've nowhere to enter them. When I press ok on the iphone, it then tells me that home sharing is not currently available.

 

I've deleted the app and re-added it and started afresh but to no avail. i just end up going around in circles. I have had this in place in the past and it was so easy but it's driving me insane this time around.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The problem appears to be with the two-step verification.

 

I had the same issue with not being able to turn it on on my iPhone 5S. I turned the two-step verifcation off and tried again and it connected with no problem.
