how to create an apple id with iCloud.com extension when registering for first time?

Hello,

I have a new user (my dad aged 65) who never had an email addresses with google or yahoo or hotmail, he wants to start directly with apple id. When i tried to do a registration for apple iCloud id, with "hisname@icloud.com", getting error, iCloud.com is not acceptable email.

Not sure, how to create an apple id with iCloud.com extension when registering for first time?.Do i need to always have valid gmail or yahoo accounts before coming to apple iCloud id or how?

Let me know. Thanks!.

To create a stand-alone iCloud Address you will need to do so from the Mail App on a Mac or Settings->Mail,Contacts,Calendars->Add Account option on an iOS Device.

You can click on the "Get a Free iCloud E-Mail address" option when setting up a new iCloud E-mail account.

Doing it this way you won't need an existing 3rd party email account.

If you try to create it from the website, you will need an existing email account from another provider.
