Q: my battery dies SO quickly

Ok, i have a Macbook Pro (Mid 2010). And it turns out my battery dies SO quickly. It lasts for a hour and i'm only on google and it makes my MacBook extremely hot. I was thinking of buying a replacement battery from the NuPower tech? Do you think that will solve the issue? And please don't ask me to go to Apple, because that's not what i'm trying to do, also is it hard to replace the battery? I replaced my hard drive with no problem do you think it will be hard for me?

Hold the option key and click on the Battery icon in the top right menubar.

    What is the condition?

It says normal! But my MacBook dies so quickly. This can't be normal. I only have google chrome up. 20 minutes running and it drained like 40% of my battery!!!!

Chrome is known to be resource hog. Try turning of all Chrome extensions and plug-ins  if you are determined to use Chrome.

You can Try resetting the  SMC http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964

You can share even more info about your battery condition by holding the OPTION key while clicking on your Apple menu icon. The OPTION key changes the usual first item, "About this Mac," to "System Information" or "System Profiler" depending on your OSX version (which we do not yet know), Launch that item.

When Sys Profiler/Information opens you will see a Contents pane on the left edge of the window. From that list select "Power." You will get something similar to this:

The area I've outlined in red is where to find the important information we need to recommend action. Please copy/paste just the lines on your computer that correspond to those I've outlined above into a response to your own thread here.

If you have trouble with copy/pasting from SI/SP simply type the values your computer shows for:

    Charge Remaining (mAh)

    Full Charge Capacity (mAh)

    Cycle Count:

    and

    Condition.
