Why am i prompted to update this application that I never use nor can I find on harddrive

I am constantly prompted to update Apple Remote Desktop and yet I have never found the application on the Hardrive. I have actually updated this application a number of times now when I allowed to update app to run all updates but when I went to find out what it is and where it might be I realized that it is nothing that I knowingly use or need so why am I asked to update?
