Q: 'Staff' Permissions on FTP Folder
I've been having an issue where any files added to an FTP share on El Capitan Server are Read Only for the 'Staff' group. Normally this is not a problem, but for the users accessing the files via third party clients and the webinterface (Crush FTP) it is. The files wont download or show '0' size. If I proporgate the ACL Groups from the top of the FTP folder to all the subfolders, then all the issues go away. How do i either make sure any files added to the FTP folder inherit R+W for the 'Staff' group automagically, or automate forcing this somehow. Tried a few scripts using Folder actions but have had no sucess.
- for f in "$@"
- do
- chmod -R ugo=rw,+X "$f"
- chown :staff "$f"
- done
A step by step would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
