Some that have been cropped more before import do better and range from 5000 x 3000 to 4000 x 2000. But I have been using these same images in this timeline for the last 2 years and done just fine.
specs: Macbook Pro late 2011, 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7, RAM 16GB, Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB,
