Green Flashes on stills in FCPX 10.2.3

I updated to 10.2.3. Since the update I have had trouble with my stills from earlier projects flashing green or being completely green when I try to render a transform or a crop to them. Before I render I don't see the green. I tried deleting all project render files and then re-rendering. I also tried copying the pasting the project onto a new timeline. These things did not work. Does anybody have any suggestions?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011), OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

Just one question:

Would there be any third party plugins used that now might be incompatible with 10.2.3?

WWhat are the resolutions of the image? What are your system capabilities including your graphics card?

I have some pixel works map callouts and fx factory pro loaded into my effects but they are not used in this sequence

the largest are 6000 x 4000 and they seem to be affected the most. Some that have been cropped more before import do better and range from 5000 x 3000 to 4000 x 2000. But I have been using these same images in this timeline for the last 2 years and done just fine.

specs: Macbook Pro late 2011, 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7, RAM 16GB, Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB,

TThe graphics card is underpowered for processing many images of that high resolution to video. Try reducing the resolution to match the resolution of the project.

NNumber of images, amount of processing, what else is happening in the system. There can be a lot of factors. The system power is marginal in relation to the demands.
