Q: Restarting continuously: Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 3.06 24-Inch (Early 2008). MB398LL/A A1225 (EMC 2211) Model ID:iMac8,1. O.S: Mavericks
Hola, Good afternoon,
this is my first issue with a Mac i couldn´t fix by myself.
I have checked dimilar issues on different apple forums and different possible things to test but no apparent solution.
As alwasy i would like to fix it myself to have a control of the computer.
Backups are done. and also a bootable USB with mavericks but no luck.
System:
Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 3.06 24-Inch (Early 2008).
MB398LL/A A1225 (EMC 2211)
Model ID:iMac8,1
O.S: Mavericks.
Problem: The computer turned off last week while i was writing and now everytime it starts, goes into a loop: keep on restarting as follows: Apple logo icon, time circle, restart—> Apple logo icon, time circle, restart ...
I can listen/see the following:
•Startup chime.
•Fan & drive operation noises.
•Pressing the Caps Lock key on the keyboard causes it to light.
• Apple logo icon, time circle, restart (in loop) —> Apple logo icon, time circle, restart —> Apple logo icon, time circle, restart.
Power issues
•Verified a good connection from iMac to the wall
•Disconnected all accessories that are plugged in to computer.
•Holded down the power button for ten seconds.
•Reset the SMC.
•PRAM
I can´t access Safe Boot (Shift ⇧ Start up in Safe Mode) or disk utility. The computer after a long time after apple logo goes into the time circle and after 15mins turns the screen off and does not go to any point. I let it like this, all night long and also no success.
But, I can access Single User mode (Command-S) and made next steps:
- fsck –fy and press return
- mount –uw and press return
- touch /private/var/db/.AppleSetupDone and press return
- Type exit and press return
But also no Luck...
I have also followed this posts:
