Q: Date-Time Error?

Something odd happened with the time stamp of an MP3 file made with the iPhone.

1) A recording was started at 2:48 pm that lasted 1 hour and 8 minutes. It follows that it ended at 3:56 pm.

2) A second recording was started a few minutes after the end of the first recording.

3) The file's Creation time for the second recording is 3:03 pm.

Since the first recording ended at 3:56, why/how is the Creation time 3:03? (please see image)

I have never seen anything like this happen, so I especially surprised to see it on an Apple product.

Can anyone, especially Apple, explain how/why this can happen?

Those are the creation dates of the files when then were downloaded and created on your Mac.  Obviously the 2015-09-30-_1.m4a file was downloaded first at 2:48PM and the second file, _2.m4a was downloaded and created at 3:03 PM.  Every time the file is saved to a different volume so a new file is created the file creation date will change.

Video file created dates have nothing to do with when they were taken.
