Is it possible to move saved AOL emails to iCloud?

I haven't been able to get any emails from AOL for a week now. It would appear the server is down, so I am told. I have an iCloud email address which I have just used successfully. My thinking is that I should start using the iCloud email address all the time. I've had my AOL account for 15 years so i have plenty of important emails saved.

Is there a way I can export my saved AOL folders to iCloud? Would this be something that could be done at an Apple store with a Guru?

I assume you are using an AOL mail client instead of Apple's Mail client. AOL mail application should have a forward mail button, but I'm not sure where you would find it. I don't use AOL. Check for it in AOL's menu under all headings as they may have moved it.

If you are using Apple Mail application, Forwarding would be under Message in the menu.

I'm not sure why you would be using forwarding to copy mail from one account to another, unless you don't have all accounts in one mail application such as Mail.

And the group email mentioned above was to inform the OP's contacts of his change in address. So I'm not sure on your comment on forwarding emails from AOL to iCloud in a group email and what you actually mean.

Do you have the AOL account setup in Mail? Are you storing messages on the computer locally, or is AOL IMAP? Either way, if both accounts are setup in Mail, you can transfer the messages from one account to the other. Or, move the AOL messages to local mailboxes.

If AOL is not setup in Mail, either setup the account in Mail and transfer the messages, or see if you can export them from the AOL site and import them into Mail.

Select all messages in a particular mailbox at one time and right click (control-click) on them and choose either copy or move the messages and select the mailbox to move or copy to. Choose mailboxes in the iCloud account, or create local mailboxes on the computer and move them there.

You could also just highlight messages and drag them to another account. If you want the as IMAP mailboxes other than the main mailboxes to an iCloud account, then you will need to create those mailboxes under the account and not On My Mac section.

So in the above image, if I wanted to move all messages from the ATT account inbox to the iCloud inbox, I would highlight the ATT inbox account, select all messages within it, and drag or move them with the menu to the iCloud inbox.

Send out a group email and inform everyone at once. Use the BCC field of a new message so everyone's address is hidden from other recipients.

You can send group messages either by creating a group in the Contact application and put everyone in the group you want to send to, or by adding the addresses one at a time in the address field of the new message window. You can also select the contacts by clicking on the circle-plus icon to the right side of the address field in the new message window.
