Q: Apple Watch Astronomy face has wrong location

Recently my Apple Watch "went black". It still had battery power but was totally unresponsive and only showed a black screen. Rebooting the watch solved that issue.

I don't know if it is related, but the Apple Watch Astronomy face used to have a green dot on the picture of the globe, showing my location here in France.

Now it just is centered on California (I presume Cupertino) with no green dot.

I have powered on and off both the Watch and my iPhone.

I have unpaired and re-paired the Watch and iPhone.

I have turned Location Services on and off.

I have changed watch faces, done all of these things and switched back to Astronomy only to find that it is still broken.

All other iPhone apps accurately display my location here in France.

Any suggestions?

Make sure you watch os is up to date. On your iPhone tap the Watch icon then tap General > Software Update

And make sure your iPhone iOS software is up today. Tap Settings > General > Software Update

    Hi

With your iPhone and watch connected via Bluetooth and with your iPhone connected to a Wi-Fi network, the following steps may help.

Check after each step (it may also help, after each step, to tap on the Astronomy watch face complication to cycle through the different views):

My iPhone and Watch software are always up to date.

I have already done all of this and my software is always up to date.

HOWEVER, the map app on the watch gets to France but keeps spinning a busy icon and does not get to my actual location in Montpellier. It just continually displays a map of France.

When asking questions here, to avoid a duplication of effort, it is best to explain, at the outset, all of the steps that you have already tried.

I don't consider keeping my software up to date a step in a solution.

I presume one starts off with the current version of their software.
