Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.
I am still having this problem, am I the only one? This was most definitely a problem that did not exist prior to the 10.11.6 update so Apple, PAY ATTENTION AND FIX THIS!
Between this and Apple not giving us the choice to turn off auto-run of some videos online, I am very close to jumping ship and going back to PC.
Does it crashes after restarting?
Safari crashing is probably due to Safari extensions or third party plug-ins.

The OP is referring to a Mac running v10.11.6 not an iOS device.
Yes, thank you, it was by mistake.
I have no extensions, so that's not the problem. I tried the method to delete all internet plugins and stuff from the Library folder, but it doesn't work.
Yes, tried restarting a couple of times. It crashes when I try to type in an address or click a bookmark. So basically when I try to go to a website or click the address bar it crashes. I can browse my history and view the settings of Safari without crashing.
Just wanted to add in. Yes, Safari is crashing non-stop, and in complete random fashion. It crashed while I was googling about it crashing just now. It's not a system freeze, the app just completely quits and has to be re-opened. No plug-ins here either.
Safari keeps crashing on my MacBook Pro, 10.11.6. I have no extensions and did the plugin dump. Still does not work. Can't even get Fox News. It must be the Russians.
Seriously, a major pain. I'm 2 hours from the nearest Genius bar.
Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. Then try Safari/History/Show History and delete all history items. Quit/reopen Safari and test. You can also try try Safari/Clear History…. The down side is it clears all cookies. Doing this may cause some sites to no longer recognize your computer as one that has visited the web site. Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library./Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db and move it to the trash.
Go to Safari Preferences/Extensions and turn all extensions off. Test. If okay, turn the extensions on one by one until you figure out what extension is causing the problem.

Yes, mine has been randomly crashing since end of September. I have tried all sorts of remedies like clearing out caches, cookies etc. to no avail so finally I moved over to Chrome as my default browser. Apple still haven't fixed it, only this morning it crashed again.
Yep. Same problem.
Yes, continually but randomly, since most recent upgrade to El Capitan. Opening a new window, even from my bookmarks, i.e. sites that I habitually visit, very often crashes Safari.
Same exact issue here. I have tried deleting everything to no avail. Absolutely annoying and un apple like. Started the same day as the OS update.
