Q: requires newer version of itunes

I am unable to sync my phone to itunes via usb, as whenever i try, a message saying 'the iphone cannot be used because it requires a newer version of itunes comes up. It then tells me to go to itunes UK ( i live in australia) to get the latest version of itunes. I am unable to download any of my music from itunes onto my phone to listen to offline because of this. Help?

iPhone SE, iOS 9.3.3

You need to update iTunes on your computer.

    Mac

    1. Open iTunes.
    2. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose iTunes > Check for Updates.
    3. Follow the prompts to install the latest version.

    Windows

    1. Open iTunes.
    2. From the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window, choose Help > Check for Updates. Learn what to do if you can’t see the menu bar.
    3. Follow the prompts to install the latest version.

Hello melissafromadelaide2016. I suspect you are running Windows XP or Vista, in which case the news is quite bad I'm afraid: Apple ended support for those operating systems about a year ago. The last iTunes version that supported XP and Vista was the one described here: Download iTunes 12.1.3 for Windows (32 bit). Under What's new in iTunes it is noted that the iPhone SE is not supported. You would need Windows 7 or higher (or a Mac) to support an iPhone SE. BTW iOS 10 might be only a month away, and it will most likely render older Apple devices unsupportable on XP and Vista.
