iPhone sending texts as SMS & Phone going straight to voicemail

Hey y'all I have a question,

So my friend's phone was acting just fine Sunday night when we were texting & then yesterday & today when I try to text her my imessages do not send but instead turn to SMS. So I tried calling her & her phone doesn't even ring it goes straight to voicemail. I had my other friend call & text her as well & same thing. I'm starting to get a little worried because this is unusual. Is her phone off or something?

Off as in dead or like turned off because it wasn't paid for? Sometimes her mom turns off her data when she is in trouble but I have still been able to contact her. But once she cut off her phone for a day or so..

This is the same question you originally asked... what part of the answers you already gotten were unclear?

Either the phone is physically turned off, service has been disconnected, or there is no data connection. If you can't call it, can't send an SMS to it, and can't send an iMessage to it, then it's probably physically turned off or the service has been suspended.
