jailbreak to restore files not found on recovery software?

Thanks in advance for you help here. My question and issue is quite similar to those without previous backups performed

I was attempting to actually save my Voice Memos from an old iPhone 4 with moving the recordings into iTunes. I guess I followed, or misunderstood the instructions to relocate memos, and after performing the synch all extremely important voice memos are now gone..

After following multiple sets of instructions using installed software and coming through files, only a few (2) of the voice memos have showed in explorer media files. 😟

During the synch process, I quit halfway through, when I noticed what was happening to the files, however the Voice Memos do not show on iPhone and yet, the full synch from iTunes tracks has overwritten the iPhone 4..

Being that all voice memos are not showing in demo version of iExplorer and other software trial runs, are the others I need to find not showing, now gone?

Is there any other option for me? A reset? A restore option? (again no backup to cloud or other device)

Another restore ap to try?

Finally, would jailbreaking with file search ( think thats what I read) locate them? (I know nothing of this, I have just been digging to find answers and this came up on some threads)
