Been on apple live chat and with microsoft for a few hours to help with problem. No further forward. Getting error message from boot camp based on the iso I've downloaded following links from Apple site onto Microsoft site. It is saying i need 64-bit, but that is what I installed..... helpful suggestions anyone?

Are you using https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/home to download the ISO? What is the file name and can you post the MD5sum of the ISO?

Yes, the ISO is downloaded from the microsoft.com site.   This is the name of file I have Win10_1511_2_English_x64.iso. And yet the Boot camp is saying Boot Camp only supports 64-bit Windows 8 or later installation on this platform. Please use an ISO file for 64-bit Windows 8 or later installation.

So on Apple support they thought that the file wasn't correct because the size is 388,604,856 bytes (388.6 MB on disk). But on Microsoft chat, they assured me that this iso is small.

I gave up after 4 hours of getting nowhere last night. Thanks for any help

... and Apple Support is correct. You should have a 4.2Gb file with the following MD5sum.

    ls -lgh Win10_1511_2_English_x64.iso

    -rw-r--r--@ 1 staff   4.2G May  7 08:33 Win10_1511_2_English_x64.iso

    openssl md5 Win10_1511_2_English_x64.iso

    MD5(Win10_1511_2_English_x64.iso)= 3ca03a2c59ae5b58ca965a345d4f2ae1

Please use a wired connection instead of a Wireless connection. It will save you a lot of time, energy and money.

Ok thanks for your help. I wonder if this was the problem as I have a wireless connection. I got a call from my local Apple shop and they suggested running through parallels - so I am doing a free trial and it uploaded my Windows USB without any difficulty in about 3o mins. Shame I must have missed the part on Bootcamp or apple support about requiring a wired connection. Anyway thanks for your time.

If you have a reliable connection, wireless connection does work, but it can lead to corrupted ISOs, if unreliable.
