Does the Apple TV Remote app have a way to put Apple TV to sleep?
is there a quick way to turn off Apple TV using the Apple TV Remote app or do I have to go through the menu to get to "Sleep Now."
iPhone 6, iOS 9.2, null

The remote app itself has no shortcut for putting the unit to sleep.
You can hold the home button and it will show you the Sleep Now alert page.
Never mind, that is on the actual remote...

Never mind I see you have edited your reply.
On our iPhone 5s & 6s the Apple TV Remote app works like the hardware remote -- if I "press" the Home icon for a few seconds, I'm given the option to put the Apple TV to Sleep.

So it does, I had tested this but had been holding the menu button.
Thanks so much. I thought I had tried all "buttons" on the remote app. I really appreciate fellow users providing the answers that Apple seems to think are not necessary to document.
I'm sure you saved many others countless wasted hours in trying to figure this out.
Thanks for you help and update.
Glad it helped.
