forgot passcode on daughters phone. 5S -

My daughter has forgotten her passcode to her 5S. I have the phone connected to itunes, but I don't find her phone when selecting a phone. I did a hard reset, but It just shows the itunes symbol and a picture of a cord. What do I do next?
