Q: My Mac screen would not load after logging in

I changed my username, so the login screen indicated that there was an update needed. After it was installed, I tried to login and the screen wouldn't login and would just show the color wheel loading.

    Hello Christianvhs,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding your MacBook Pro is showing a color wheel and you're unable to login. I know how important it is to be able to use your MacBook without issue. I am happy to help get this resolved with you.

At this point I recommend trying to start from OS X Recovery. This will allow you to use Disk Utility to repair your startup disk if needed.

To start up from OS X Recovery, hold down Command (⌘)-R immediately after turning on or restarting your Mac. Release when you see the Apple logo. If you can't start up from OS X Recovery, try holding down Option-Command-R to start up from OS X Internet Recovery*.

If you continue to experience issues after start up, please check the following link for screens you might see and solutions.

    Have a wonderful day!
