Q: Changed Apple ID Email and Photos are gone

Yesterday I changed my Apple ID email per Apple online instructions (I did NOT create a new account) and everything went fine. Signed out all of my devices from the old email and logged in with the new apple id email (same PW).

Everything appeared to be there, purchased music, Notes, etc. but I just noticed my Camera Roll is empty. None of my photos transferred. What do I need to do to get them?

(Yes I've already tried signing out and back in. Yes I am signed in with the updated Apple ID on the iCloud Settings and Photos is selected on. And yes I'm logged in with the updated Apple ID under the iTunes and App store.)

Thanks for your help.

The camera roll album is independent of any iCloud settings, so even though you should sign out of all Apple Services with the old ID and then sign in with the new one, your camera roll photos should still be on the device. As an aside, you should take a look at this if you haven't done so already.

As I said though, camera roll photos are stored on the device itself and have nothing to do with iCloud. Have you closed the photos app and force restarted the device?

Close Photos. Press the Home button two times quickly. You'll see small previews of your recently used apps. Swipe left to find the app you want to close. Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.

Force restart your device. To force restart your device, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
