Aug 2, 2016 1:41 PM in response to iron_flashby David Bogie Chq-1,★HelpfulMy recommendation would be to buy your collaborator the least expensive Mac that will get the job done and buy FCPX for it. What you save in wasted time and frustration may pay for the machine two or three times.
Before you try to do this, be sure to investigate XML as an edit list transfer medium. Lots of information out there.
Run yourself an experiment or two—before you commit—so you can be sure all parties understand the processes and the possible limitations.

Aug 2, 2016 2:32 PM in response to iron_flashby Meg The Dog,You will need 3rd party software: X to 7 (now called X to CC, but it is the same thing), more info here:

Note all the limitations of using XML as methodology for project transfer between platforms.
XML is a very terse language, and may not be able to pass all details of the project.
On the page referenced above, there is a link to see the limitations of such a transfer.
Best bet is to try a practice conversion before you commit to working this way.
