Q: Unable to register my mac mini serial number

I have tried several times on different days to register my Mac mini's serial number. Each time i get the following message:

 

"We're sorry, but we are unable to complete your request at this time. Please try again later"

 

I am certain that the number is accurate. Copied and pasted the serial number from - About this Mac.

 

I purchased a reconditioned open box mini from Bestbuy and want to make sure that my full year warranty is in effect from the date of my purchase.

If you are unable to upload a copy of your receipt

as per > Update your proof of purchase - Apple Support

then call > Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support

    The big question would be "Who did the reconditioning?"

     

    If it was anyone other than Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider,

    the warranty has been voided!

    You may have to contact the BestBuy store where the product was bought

    and inquire of its status from a sales manager. If the product is not as they

    suggested (or was, within their interpretation of the words they chose) ask

    they do an adjustment or accept the product back for refund.

     

    An 'open box' - with the software reset to as-shipped - does not necessarily

    mean it was 'refurbished' -- An official Apple refurbished unit has different

    serial number sequence (prefix) than an officially new Apple same model.

     

    Sometimes you can find a good deal at online Apple Store's special deals

    refurbished section, they are as-new warranteed. The AppleCare Extended

    Plan service/support can be bought for official Apple Refurbished product.
