Amazon nor any Amazon sellers are authorized resellers of iPads (nor iPhones). That means that Amazon or it's sellers are selling used or Amazon refurbished iPads. Amazon refurbished products are refurbished by Amazon's contractor, not Apple, and the only warranty they will have is through Amazon. Any Amazon sellers listing new iPads got them somewhere other than the official Apple authorized supply chain.
Even if packaged as new, any time period to add AppleCare+ began the moment an Amazon seller purchased the product, as that eligible time period begins with the date of the original authorized retail sale of the device, not the date of re-sale by a private (and non-Apple Authorized) seller.
