MY Apple ID is an email address that is no longer in existence. When I try to update my storage plan that email address shows as my ID and I don't know the password. i have changed my ID in itunes and use a new password
there but when I try to buy more storage the old email shows in the pop up under my name and asks for a password which I do not remember. How can I fix this?

Try to logout from iCloud and login with your new Apple ID.
Your Apple ID, password, and your account email are specific to what you had entered when you first set up your Apple ID.
If you don't remember the password, you will need the other two items in order to reset the password. I suggest starting with this Apple Support article on what to do if you forgot your Apple ID password.

IT doesn't work because I need the password. I can't get into any area that lets me edit the ID Only the password.
I have changed my password 5 times but when I try to upgrade my storage with the new password the pop up
has the original non existant email address that I cannot edit and when I enter my new password it says re enter password and won't work.
Do you actually have multiple Apple IDs then? Each would have a separate iCloud Drive space for storage. I am assuming that you are trying to upgrade the amount of this iCloud storage ... is this correct?
I Was able to enter a new email address and ID for using iTunes. This ID is different than what it shows in the Cloud as my ID and which I do not know the password. I only have that one other email and password. To upgrade the storage for the Cloud it asks for the password I don't know so I cannot purchase more storage.
Ok, Apple certainly doesn't make it easy sometimes.
You can have multiple Apple IDs. In turn, you can use the same one for both iTunes & iCloud ... or you can use separate ones for each of them. This is where it can get tricky.
In my case, I do have two Apple IDs and I use one for iTunes & the other for iCloud.
Regardless on how you use them, each Apple ID is unique. Each comes with its own iCloud storage. They also have their own email address. It's easy to 'mix them up.'
Ok, with all that said. If you don't remember the password for either Apple ID account that you have, Apple has the iForgot recovery website. I suggest that you go there, hopefully, to be able to reset the password.
TThanks. I have a support case number but they said I need to go to an Apple store and they will wipe it clean and start over.
WE do not have a laptop or PC to back anything up so hopefully the Apple Store can do that.
I Do not want to lose documents and 780 songs that my son shares to this iPad.
nearest Apple Store is 130 miles from here so I almost think I buying a new iPad or MacBook might be the way to go.
