Q: I have an error: This operation requires an interactive window station

I've been through many iterations of trying to fix this, hoping for a bit of good fortune: iPhone connects only to appear as a problem device in Device Manager, then when attempting to either manually or automatically install driver software, I get the above error. I've tried everything (that I can reasonably think of). Anyone else?
Windows 10x64 Asus Desktop

iPhone 6s

All iTunes and iOS up to date.

Many thanks in advance!

    Greetings, moonbird-arts.

It appears that iTunes for Windows isn't recognizing your iPhone 6s and making sure the correct drivers are installed hasn't helped. iTunes is an integral part of keeping your iPhone and PC synced, and I'll be glad to help!

Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later -- Since you've used "If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad or iPod", the next thing to do is remove iTunes from your PC and reinstall it again. Be sure to uninstall iTunes' components in the order provided. After you've reinstalled iTunes again, be sure to restart your PC as well.

Take care and thanks for using Apple Support Communities!

This did the trick, thank you so much, and let this post find its way to all others searching. With Becky's answer above, I also removed all Apple products via Control Panel (I mean *all*), and reinstalled via fresh downloads after a clean reboot. This may also solve similar problems with other drivers, so try following the same recipe.

Problem solved, iPhone is syncing again!

    Thank you Becky!
