Q: How does a fledgling Podcast get noticed now?
Hi,
I've been producing a podcast for 6 months now and it has played on iTunes that entire time.
Podcast: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/hellbent-for-horror/id1090978706
I am using iTunes version 12.4.2.4
Until a few weeks ago, the iTunes app front page allowed a search by show categories.
Under these categories, when you clicked "See All", you would get over 100 podcast icons and you could click to directly go to the podcasts.
I was grateful to be listed in the top 100 in "TV and Film". This allowed to me grow a small but increasing listener base.
However, now all of the categories now only show the Top 20 podcasts, and those are generally podcasts that are well established and sponsored.
How does an up-and-coming podcast get noticed this way?
the name of my podcast is "Hellbent for Horror", yet if I do a general search for the word "horror" or "Horror podcast", mine does not show up, and it did before.
Does anyone have suggestions or advice? I'd really love to continue to grow along with iTunes, but I fear I've been lost in a change.
iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.3, also use iTunes app for Windows 10
