Child's purchases coming off MY Gift Card!

Hello,

This has been very frustrating. I bought our children gift cards and they added them to their accounts. For some reason, when one of my children makes a purchase, it comes off of "my" gift card and not his. He is signed into "his" account and he's not part of our family sharing because our family is too large. I had him sign in and sign out multiple times and then we did a small in app purchase on his phone and it still came off of mine. He doesn't have a hand me down phone either, so it's not like it used to be my phone. His was new from the store. For some reason they think his purchases are mine!

Whose account downloaded that app from the App Store (either directly on the phone or on the computer that it was synced from) ? All apps are tied to the account that downloaded it, so that account will be charged for in-app purchases in them.

I believe everything he's been downloading since he received the phone is on his account. Is there a way to check this?

You can view an account's purchase history via a computer's iTunes : See your purchase history in the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC - Apple Support - unfortunately it's not searchable, and it's possible that the app might be on both your's and his account.

When doing the in-app purchases does an id popup asking for an account's password - that should be the account that downloaded the app, and therefore be the account that's charged for the IAP.
