Q: Mac OS shutting down and then not finding system on startup
Running OS X 10.11.6, on my iMac, it suddenly restarts but can't find the startup system (gray screen, "not sign" alternating with folder with ? in it). I startup to get disk utility, run first aid, it says everything is OK. I start up again. Once it worked. Then it didn't work. I tried to reinstall OS X, but when it was time for the computer to restart, it couldn't find the startup again. This time I went in to Disk Utility (using cmd-R to get to it), quit that until I got to startup, and selected my Macintosh HD to restart (the only option). It did. But I fear the problem is still there. Is there some other way to find out where the problem is? Anybody have any guess on what to do next? Thanks.

Did this resolve the issue or no?
Typically if there is a problem of this sort, checking your >System Preferences>StartUp Disk you select the Macintosh HD—which sounds like what you did.
If the issue contines you can
