Q: Using El Capitan 10.11.6. How can I move formatted pictures in iPhoto to a document

Running on ElCapitan 10.11.6. How can I insert already formatted photos from desktop to a document?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), mid-2010 vintage now black screen

    Leroy,
    Thank you for your response. Drag & drop made sense to me, but I tried doing that and couldn't transfer pix to my document. I see a visit to the Genius Bar in my future.

    If your undisclosed "document" software is up to date you should be able to drag and drop to it - if that does not work you can use the medial browser in every open/insert/upload window near th bottom of the source pane on the left under media ==> photos ==> Photos - or in Photos export (file menu ==> export) to a desktop folder and use from there

    Your question is unclear.

     

    What is a "formatted photo"? Is it just a file on the desktop? Or is it managed by some app like iPhoto? Photos.app? Something else?

     

    Next... what app is making the document? Pages? Word? Something else?

     

    With this kind of information we might be able to help...
