No longer able to access Time Capsule remotely

Ok, so over the last few months I have had nothing but issues out of my time capsule. I have four Macs, three of which access the Time Capsule remotely, during these last few months, the computers that access the Time Capsule remotely can no longer gain access if away from the wifi from the Time Capsule. I have reset everything, both on the computers, and even by doing a reset by pressing and holding the button on the back of the Time Capsule. This is beginning to become frustrating because nothing has seemed to work. Also, the three computers that access the Time Capsule remotely are all on the latest software, and the one that never leaves is on beta software.

Ok, I am going to assume that you are using Back to My Mac (BTMM) to access the Time Capsule (TC) from a remote location then.

Let's look at the prerequisites for using BtMM:

  • iCloud Account
  • AirPort Extreme or Time Capsule running 7.6.1+ firmware
  • AirPort Utility 6.3+
  • Mac running OS X 10.7.5+
  • A router with a publicly reachable IP address and supports either UPnP or NAT-PMP.
  • A firewall that allows remote connections.

Does your set up meet all of these criteria?

If so, then let's double-check your BtMM setup on each of your Macs using this Apple Support article: HT204618 - Set up and use Back to My Mac

Please post back your results.
