Q: 6th generation Ipod nano screen not responding

My dad has had an Ipod nano 6th generation for about a year or two and the screen has a very small crack. It was last working at 12 o'clock and when he tried to use it around 4 the screen wouldn't respond. There has been no water damage and the lock/volume buttons work fine. I've tried hard restarting it and just plain turning it off but nothing seems to help.
