Q: Acorn TV doesn't work on new Apple TV

So disappointed that the Acorn TV app doesn't work with the new Apple TV we just bought. We subscribed on iTunes and nothing happens when we try to activate the app. We can watch fine on the MacBooks, iPads and iPhones. Checked the purchase on iTunes account and that's fine. Contact Acorn and the say it's an Apple issue.

 

Strange that I have to use Chrome to be able to even write this question. Safari and Sienna aren't working with the Support pages. I'll send in the feedback.

 

I'm resetting the Apple TV now. We've been with Apple TV since version 1. Hopefully we can make this work!

    how would appletv make 1 app out of the bunch not work ?

    each app live their own life the core appletv don't even know what the apps are doing they just

    use the ios network to get their content

    Acorn TV is a subscription. To make it work it needs to verify that your subscription in iTunes is in good standing. There's a connection that occurs before you're able to see the content of the app. at the sign on screen there's a link to reset the iTunes connection. That doesn't work.

     

    HBO GO, STARZ, SHOWTIME, also verify a subscription with a provider (Verizon, Comcast, etc...)

     

    These work. Acorn doesn't.

    I have. Apparently many others have as well because it's noted all over the App Store, Acorn Site and a general Google Search.

     

    I'll try cancelling iTunes and subscribing directly with Acorn and see if that works.

    The Acorn.tv website says it works. It doesn't. I launch the app, and I just get a cloudy white screen. Nada. Zip. I emailed Acorn support but they have not bothered to reply. VERY disappointing!!!
