There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 10 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:

    - What version of iPhoto.

    - What version of the Operating System.

    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.

    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?

    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.

    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?

Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

I included all the info that was available to me in my original request:

    iPhoto 9.6.1

    Model Name:    iMac

    Model Identifier:    iMac9,1

Processor Name:    Intel Core 2 Duo

    Processor Speed:    2.93 GHz

    Number of Processors:    1

      Total Number of Cores:    2

      L2 Cache:    6 MB

      Memory:    4 GB

      Bus Speed:    1.07 GHz

      Boot ROM Version:    IM91.008D.B08

      SMC Version (system):    1.45f0

      Hardware UUID:    D31779F2-544A-5686-8CC1-C18F71FF04F6

I just found the problem.  I open iPhoto 9.6.1 and click on the event I want to look at.  Then I click on the icon that actually shows the photo, but when it opens the screen is blank (white).  It does show a glimpse of the photo as it opens, but then the screen goes blank.  This is the 1st time this has happened.

I've tried exporting the picture and opening it in other applications, including Photoshop, but no luck.

back up your iPHoto library and hold down the option and command keys while launching iPHoto - repair permissions and then rebuild the library
