I can't install OS X onto my MacBook Air

I recently purchased a Mid-2011 11" Macbook Air and I tried update it from OS X lion 10.7 to OS X El Capitan and I get this error message saying "The OS X Installation couldn't be installed. It would let me save the log or view it. I tried it five times and put it into recovery mode also and I get the same results every time!!!!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!😢
