Why is my iMac iBook links blank? However, I can view them fine on my iPads?

I am not able to view links of a epub on my iMac, however, they show up on my iPad and iPad Pro? My iMac is a 2012 and is updated to El Capitan...my iPads are also up to date. Some and only some links on my iMac show up, but, only only part of the text can be viewed as if not enough memory to view all the text. (I have 8 gigs of memory) I have searched the internet for answers and so far nothing has worked. Please help! Why is this happening?

iMac (27-inch, Late 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Hello Andy,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I know having an issue with links in iBooks files is not what you expect. If I understand correctly, you are unable to see links in ePub files only on your iMac, but iOS devices work fine with the same file. You can figure out if unexpected behavior like this is related to user file or setting by trying to reproduce the issue from another user account. This process includes creating a new user account, logging in to it, and testing for the issue.

How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

Cheers!
