Q: Trackpad and keyboard problem when logging in

Hi guys,

probably after the last update I am having a trouble when logging into my MacPro (early 2015). When I turn on it or just open it after I closed it, the mouse is frozen, trackpad doesn`t really do anything and keyboard is not responding.

So I have to do a hard power off and do it over and over again until the trackpad (mouse) and keyboard start responding again.

Also sometimes when I am in the system already, the trackpad stops responding while the mouse and keyboard is working.

Anyone of you might have the same problem? Any solution? It is really driving me crazy when I try to ten times to get to my system

Thank you very much.

Mac Pro

Hello, thanks for the reply. I just wonder if I made it clear - I have nothing external connected to Mac. I meant the trackpad and keyboard that are integrated in the Mac

The Apple Support Topic Ella Fitzgerald posted does have some pertinent information under the subhead:

Your mouse, keyboard, or trackpad intermittently stops responding

If this does not solve your problem, then download and run EtreCheck, It is a diagnostic tool that's very useful to us in finding problems. Also it will give us further specs on your Mac. After it runs post the log file here. It will contain no personal information.

Reports suggest there might be some issues with f.lux in El Capitan. To rule this possibility out, please uninstall this app. If it makes no difference, you can always put it back.

hidd (Human Interface Device Daemon) is crashing. It is a core process and it controls your keyboard and mouse. You cannot run your system without it. But something is causing it to malfunction.

I'd suggest using the 10.11.6 Combo Update to overwrite any system software that is corrupt.

The Combo Update is a fuller install, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update, so it should overwrite any files that are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have applied it before. It should preserve all your data and settings, but that said you should always have a backup.

You can download the Combo here.
