Q: Airport express setup

I am installing an airport express in my home network and am having trouble setting up a new network. I have my dsl modem connected my main router, which has my PPPoE username/password stored. I want to add the AE to another part of the house (connected by ethernet) to be able to AirPlay music. However, when I go in to set up the AE, it asks me for my PPPoE username and password. Even if I enter it, i get an error setting up the AE. Does anyone know why it would be asking me for the PPPoE info?

By default, the AirPort Express base station will perform as a wireless router and why during the initial setup it is asking you for your PPPoE information.

I suggest that you perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. Once completed, remove it from power. Temporarily connect it, via Ethernet, to your "main router" for the setup phase. Power-on (plug into power) the base station. It should show up on your Mac or iPad as a new network .... AND show up in the AirPort Utility as a new base station to configure. Just follow the automated steps to get it configured to extend the main router with a wired connection.

Once the base station has been properly configured and restarted, remove it from power, disconnect it from the main router, and then, place it in the desired location.
