Q: many problems with startup

2010 Macbook Pro.

 

I have many issues with startup. I have to turn it off (force) and startup my Mac 5 or 6 times before it works. I go through Verbose Mode, Safe Mode, Single user mode for it to finally come to.

 

Other than the startup issues the Mac functions fine.

 

It could be that I need to make an appointment with a Mac Genius Bartender, but how much money should I be budgeting for in order to get this issue fixed.

 

Any tips on this issue?

Have you tried SMC and NVRAM resets?

You might also run an Apple Hardware Test and see if that provides a clue:

Note that an error free AHT is not conclusive.
