Q: Internet Accounts Sets up Program (Email problem)

OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6
Email Account:  Xfinity Comcast email allows me to login to my email using my Facebook Account password. That password is not acceptable by Internet Accounts. The program returns a password error. Changing the email password did not work. The email account at Xfinity works, there is no problem sending or receiving email there.

This Email address & password and (correct server settings) doesn't work in other email accounts: Seamonkey, Thunderbird, iMac Mail

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), Mail, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey

    Hi Adryheat,

Thanks for checking out the Apple Support Communities! I understand you're having trouble setting up your Comcast email on your Mac. I use my email frequently so I can understand wanting to make sure you're able to get it set up.

The first thing you'll want to do is make sure you've followed the steps listed here to add your email account. Specifically the section labeled 'Set up Mail':

    Use Mail on your Mac

If you're still having issues with your password, it sounds like you could be having issues with the Xfinity Connect feature that is a part of the Xfinity/Comcast service. I was able to locate details about this service so you can see if this is what you're using:

Use Facebook Connect to Sign In to XFINITY Websites and Portals

If you're using this feature and are having trouble with your log in information, I would recommend getting in touch with your email provider to verify which email password you should be using in order to retrieve mail through the Mail app on your Mac.

Mail settings you might need from your email provider

    Cheers!
