I can open Photos and see all my photos but can't find in finder or post to ebay/facebook

Hello folks

Be gentle. Although I've owned apple products for many many years they continue to baffle me with changes in menus and ways to do things

My newest "accomplishment" is fully self caused

I had deleted some files to trash the other day and found after that I have full use of the Photos icon and all photos are visible but when I list something on ebay or try to post a photo on facebook the search for photos using the ebay or facebook website does not show any photos in Photos.

If I look in finder and scroll down on the Left hand menu there is no listing for photos at all.

Any assistance most appreciated

I have El Capitan running

Thanks, Peter

In latter versions of OS X the Libraries are hidden from Finder so that people do not pooch their Library.

There is a way to reveal the Library in Finder, but it probably won't help you in starring them with social media sites. If the Share feature within Photos is not working as expected..? Then your best bet might be to create a new desktop folder and drag n drop the photos from Photos to that folder for sharing.

Peter,

You can post pictures from the Photos app to Facebook from within the Photos app. In the upper right corner of the app you will find a sharing icon. Select the pictures you want to share and then click the icon and select Facebook and you're set.

Regarding posting to E-Bay, select the pictures you want to post in Photos and select File - Export and follow the on-screen prompts. This will export the pictures as jpg's and you will use Ebay to post the pictures as you are used to.

You do not access your photos using the finder - you access them using Photos or the media browser

you either select them in photos and export (file menu ==> export) to a desktop folder and use from there

OR

use the media browser toward the bottom of the source pane in every open/attach/upload window (NOT in any finder window) under media ==> photos ==> Photos - while this article is on iPhoto is is still mostly valid for Photos - How to Access Files in iPhoto

Hello

thanks for the reply. I realise you don't use finder for listing photos. I just mentioned they were not searchable there as additional into

Using ebays brouser as I have for many years no longer works

its like a link has been damaged between the brousernakd my photos files. Possible its looking in another file called photos that's not searchable.

thanks

Ah, I was so hopeful LN, Sorry it didn't work,

its definitely something I chucked in the trash when "cleaning up" it started directly after, First I completely lost all my photos. Then I retrieved them from the trash and then started putting everything in the trash back but the connection is now lost between ebay and my photo files.
