Q: iPhone deleted all music and won't resync.
So yesterday, in the middle of listening to my music it all disappeared. Every single song...gone. This happened about 20 minutes after I had downloaded a new song from iTunes with no issues. This was irritating enough, but I knew I had everything on my computer at home so I wasn't terribly concerned.
Fast forward to today--my phone will NOT sync. I'm using the latest versions of iTunes and the iPhone software, and I have a 128 GB iPhone 6s. iTunes will recognize my phone when I plug it in, and it will even let me hit the 'sync' button. It says it syncs, and looking at the list of music on my computer, claims all of my songs are on the device. The storage on the device shows 0 songs, though, and none can actually be played from my phone.
Apple Music and Match are turned off on ALL of my devices--I never even signed up for either.
I've contacted Apple Support three times now, and have received either a generic response that tells me to sync again or haven't received a response at all.
Does anyone who has had this problem have a fix? I don't want to lose all my music, and the thought of breaking out my old phone simply to have music on is unappealing.
iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.3

In case anyone has the same issue, here's how I managed to fix this.
I restored my phone from a backup before it had occurred. This let my iTunes go through with a sync, which hadn't been happening earlier. Then, I made sure Apple Music and iTunes Match were turned off on ALL my devices & all computers on my network/with my apple ID. I then selected 'manually manage my music' and applied the setting. I then had to click all of my songs (inconvenient, but not the worst thing ever) and choose the 'sync' option and it restored my music to my device.
