Its pretty dead on. When you see a company in the 2-3s there are usually many long stories about how bad they are. Its how I often find and check scam sites quickly. After the seeing the score I didn't even need to read the reviews (although I did for fun) to get an idea of what they did. Usually a 6-8 is average for most sites.
You just have to read past the idiots complaining about there package being delayed 1-2 days and get to the people who were sent the wrong item and a refusal to return it.
In fact, one time I posted a bad review of newegg because they had screwed up my order and within about 2 hours I had a newegg customer service rep on the phone with me offering me whatever he could to resolve the issue, so some companies do actually strive for good service.
