Q: Cant access folders from Win10 side of VMWare after update

After running this update I can no longer access the files stored on my desktop that is shared with my VMWare Win10 desktop.  Applications will not run as folders are empty and documents that are windows based cant be run. How do I correct this?

I have run this setup for 2 years without issue and cant seem to correct it.

I have software that I need to run for work that has to run in a windows environment

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), running VMWare with Win10

Did you check at the vmware site whether or not your version of vmware is compatible with the update you did?

I checked with VMWare and there is nothing to say that there is any global issue and I didnt update VMWare, I updated my OS which locked me out of my shared folders on the virtual machine side even though the VM settings clearly are set for sharing of whatever is on the desktop

FWIW, the version of Fusion that is compatible with El Capitan is 8.1.1.

Did you try just recreating the shared folders?
