Your iPhone should still be warrantied even without AppleCare as it is within the first year of purchase.
Of course, there are conditions ... your iPhone must be in the country you purchased it, and the issue must be a manufacturing defect and not user abuse.
Regardless, visit an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Center and see what advice you get there.
And do not run your battery down to anywhere near 4%.
