The iTunes icon and cable image means that it's gone into recovery mode, you need to connect it (by cable) to a computer's iTunes and that should let you reset the phone - you can then restore to your backup, or just resync your content back to it

You could try later, or have you got a different computer that you could try ? If not then you could try going to an Apple store (probably best not to go during peak times, unless you make a Genius Bar appointment beforehand)
