Q: Mail Is Very Slow

Having trouble with Apple Mail from dock and iCloud webpage. Mail has started moving very slowly. Trying to delete mail the bar on left of Apple Mail page says "moving xx of xx". Takes a very long time. Deleted mail - not many - moves very slowly from inbox to trash - often reappearing - and is very slowly moving off trash. Top of mail page shows 7 new emails in the inbox but none are visible. When they do show on the inbox, they are very slow to load. This morning, it's been 10 minutes and new mail will not appear. Bottom of bar on left side of mail page still shows "moving 3 of 21" where it's been for 15 minutes. Still no new mail showing even though top of mail page says 7 new messages.

    Try rebuilding the mailbox.

     

    Rebuild mailbox

     

    If that doesn't work, try re-indexing the mailboxes. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.

     

    Reindex messages        For El Capitan, try looking in V3.
