Q: Virus Help?

My Fiance just got the new 6SPlus last week (Verizon). Just moments ago...

One of his friends texted him a link to his tile business website.

When he clicked it, it opened up Safari and took awhile to load and then popped up an email (compose) that had the "To" blank, had "Cc: 844-851-4620" and "From: <his email>".

The subject line: +1-844-851-4620 Call Apple Tech Support immediately for assistance.

He cannot leave the screen. Whenever he opens up Safari that email is there.
He tried a hard-shut down and tried killing the app. He is completely disabled from browsing.

He called the number and some scammer was trying to sell him virus protection software.

What is going on?
