Q: Apple Pay from Lock Screen

When I double tap home button at Lock Screen to bring up Wallet for Apple Pay, all my cards show up except for Starbucks. Anyone know why?

I have the Starbucks app on my iPhone 6s; Starbucks card is in my Wallet already.  I'd like to be able to use it from the lock screen but it's not included with the rest of my cards.

Anyone know why?

Apple Pay is for credit/debit cards; the Starbucks card is technically a "pass" and will not show up in the Apple Pay menu. You would need to unlock your phone and open the Wallet app to access it.

My understanding is that you can only use Apple Pay to reload your Starbucks card with funds, but you cannot make a purchase with Apply Pay -- you can only use the Starbucks app to make a purchase.  However, I don't have first-hand knowledge of this, it was a comment from a co-worker awhile back.

With the Double-Click Home Button option enabled (Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay), double-clicking the Home button from the Lock screen displays (should display) both passes and Apple Pay cards, including within the stack in the lower portion of the display - including the Starbucks Card, if you have added it to Wallet.

This doesn't make no sense at all.  Why then does my REI, Walgreens, AAA, and Lowes cards show up and accessible to be used?

This not true.  Even if you have the Starbucks app installed, you can add the card to your Wallet.  From Wallet, you can use the Starbucks card for payments.  From within the Starbucks app, you can reload your card using Apple Pay.

I'm afraid that this is incorrect.

Wallet is for both Apple Pay cards and passes. Double-clicking the Home button from the Lock screen should provide access to both (with that option enabled).

Yes, I agree and you would think it does, but it doesn't.  Therefore, my question.  It's interesting the answers I've received so far.  Seems there is much confusion over this.

It certainly should (mine does, for example).

Jonathan, thanks, but I am totally up-to-date.  I am an IT guy so I'm not a novice about this and I only go to these boards when I am totally stumped.

So, just to confirm, you DO see your Starbucks card when double-tap at Lock Screen?

It seems you've misunderstood my reply; all I am saying is that the Starbucks card is a pass and not an Apple Pay card. I did, however, miss the part about double tapping the home button. I thought the OP was tapping the phone itself to the reader in the store. Double tapping the home button should indeed show both passes and Apple Pay cards.

    I see mine.

I would suggest removing the card from the Wallet app and re-adding it.

Not at all - your reply was both very clear and incorrect, for reasons that you have now explained

    You're welcome!

Yes, that is correct - I do.

stevejobsfan0123, I understand you misunderstood my OP.  Let's just leave "Apple Pay" out of this for now and refer to the "Wallet App" where ALL our credit/debit cards and passes and other store cards are stored.

Double tapping the Home button at the Lock Screen brings up your Wallet -- I should see everything in my Wallet but I don't.  I see everything except my Starbucks card.  For the record, this has been the case for a few months already and since I'm off work today, I had time to post about it.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the Starbucks app and also re-added  the Starbucks card to my Wallet.  I can see it there when I launch my Wallet app but not from the double-tap at Lock Screen.  I am stumped; I don't really want to waste my time and do a restore on my phone.  Mainly, I wanted to know if others experienced this issue.  However, the responses have been interesting and I thank you guys for helping me out.
