Q: Blue or white horizontal line across top of iPHONE 6Plus.  Screen frozen.  Hardware issue/replace phone?

Blue, sometimes white horizontal line appears across the top of iPHONE 6Plus.  At times, the size increases.  Screen freezes.  Rebooting does not help.  Hardware issue/replace phone?

Back up your device, schedule an appointment with the genius bar and take it to the Apple store.

OK, you might be in for a surprise. I have the same issue. Seems like a common issue but Apple won't admit it. Since I was out of warranty, I paid the out of warranty Repair Fees to repair/replace. And after talking to Apple Tech Support and getting the Genius Bar Appointment for 3rd time, guess what? I have the same issue with the new replaced iphone. The same flickering, then touch not responding.

    Time line:

    1. I started having issue in early August with my iPhone 6 plus and got an appointment for Genius Bar. Horizontal white flashes then not responding to touch. When to Genius Bar and they said I am out of warranty. Cost is $329 Plus tax. I told them that it is well known problem if you google. Not due to abused of the phone. Genius Bar said no I have to pay. So I called Apple Tech Support and complained about the issue, so they gave me another appointment (2nd Appt.) to genius bar.

    2. After I drove 15 miles and waited over an hour for Genius Bar and paid for repair (after haggling for the repair price), I got new phone. My new phone (with no new apps installed other than activating script info) started to behaved like the old phone I have replaced while I am driving back to home. That is within the 45 minutes of activating. The same flicking on top then not responding to touch screen.

    3. So I called back Apple Genius Bar Manager of the store where I got my phone replaced, his reply was that must be a software issue since no two phones can have the same issues (I always wonder why they called them Genius), so I was transferred to Apple Tech Support.

    4. Talked Apple Tech Support to see if I can get them to mail me a new phone since I am having the same issue, they said no I have to go back to the Apple Genius Bar since Apple Tech Support is not the one handling the case.

    5. OK, so I got my 3rd Genius Bar Appointment.

    6. And I called in Apple Tech Support again to make sure they have updated the notes in the Case file. They said, sir there is nothing we can do go back to Apple Genius Bar Appt. Or I need to update to iOS 9.3.4 because it will fix the issues. (Yea, sure, Old phone I have reset the iPhone to Factory settings 5 times and update to 9.3.4 and still have the same issue).

Here is my rant (Not related to the Issue):

Looks like Apple is playing Volley Ball with me. I have been Apple user and Fan for a long time but looks like they are deteriorating in quality. If this doesn't get resolve I am going to Android. After years of recommending Apple Products starting from Mac A/V, 7500 to current models to my clients, Apple is going to lose a royal supporter.

    Just to let you know:

I am a computer engineering major -  Graduate Degree - with over two decades experience, including Telecom, IT, Software Development, Quality Assurance and Tech Support.

I post might get deleted, the recourse will be posting to reddit and all other social media posts. Because I am really frustrated.

The EXACT scenario for me, from day 1 of the initial phone purchase & I will eventually upgrade to an Android as well. I could have written your feedback & at this point in time, Apple ranks as low as one can go. Thanks for your feedback.

It is a hardware issue that is well-known to the independent repair community since we first started seeing this problem over a year ago.

I've had the same issue, forcibly bending the phone by pressing the top away from you will fix it for me but after having the issue for a few months now, the phone is slightly bent and I'm worried enough about it breaking completely. The part that screamed out as not actually being the touch screen is that sometimes it won't work but just sleeping the screen and turning it back on without actually moving anything and it'll sometimes fix the issue for a little while.

Other than bending the phone, my solution was to go buy an older iPhone 4 and wait until the new phones come out.

I figured it was just a 'me' issue and sucked it up to buying the older phone (no way I was going to pay a lot for the repair or buy anything else with the new phones coming out soon). Apple is usually decent about dealing with these sort of issues, although it seems to take a long time to acknowledge things such as this as I'm sure they need to do a lot of research to see how widespread the issue is.

GGreat minds think alike. Bending became awkward & eventually I couldn't make/take calls. New phone!  My 3rd 6+!  A recall would be appropriate.

Come on Apple... I have the same issue. Why do we pay so much money for hardware that you're not even backing up?
